The State Bird Of Iowa…the Goldfinch is a common visitor to our backyard this year.  Some years we don’t get to see very many, but this year we’re doing OK.  Having a thistle feeder is your best bet for getting finches of all kinds to stop by.  Its a beautiful transition watching the Goldies go from a drab, pale yellow (winter plumage) to the spring and summer brightness you see here.
