I was taking a few photographs of a Hairy Woodpecker on this perch…when he really got intense looking for a second.  He almost laid down on the back side of this old trunk.  It ended up being for a good reason…after he took off like a bolt of lightning, this Sharp-shinned Hawk landed on the very same perch.  The hawk didn’t seem too intent on chasing the little woodpecker, but in less than a minute he was up and gone…it seems he had some business, or breakfast to attend to.
