Its kind of ironic that for many people, the dove is a bird of peace.  Its ironic because they are anything but peaceful around a feeder.  I don’t want to paint them as too dark and sinister, but they are certainly bossy.  They’ll sit in the middle of a tray feeder and basically bully other birds away.  Sometimes they meet their match with a big woodpecker but the smaller birds definitely have to wait their turn.
