Prairie Chickens on a lek begin their work before dawn (usually).  You’ll hear them before you see them.  So they are definitely early risers.  After a couple of hours of strutting one’s stuff, defending the turf, and trying to look good for the females, these birds look pooped.  They all stopped and just sat and meditated for awhile.  Maybe it was the warmth of the sun that did it…that works for me!  Tomorrow is another day!
