During the courtship period, the male Cardinal will make a point to feed the female and its a really neat, tender thing to witness.  But make no mistake, she has her work cut out for her.  She’ll primarily be the one building the next, incubating the eggs and tending to the chicks once hatched.  He’ll help some, but mostly he’s just buttering her up for the hard work ahead.
